Wooly®

Wooly®

The Wooly® was manufactured to prevent fender and dock lines from scuffing paint or gel coat finishes on yachts.  As with all Chafe-Pro® products, the Wooly is designed to withstand the harshest of marine environments. Black Wooly’s are made from the highest quality synthetic sheepskins, and white Wooly’s are sourced from authentic New Zealand sheepskin.

Installing in the same quick and easy fashion as all Chafe-Pro products, the Wooly can be installed or removed from a line in a matter of seconds.  Don’t worry about slipping out of place, the Wooly binds securely to the line.

Designed to match the elegance of the yachts it protects, the Wooly ensures that your yacht will have that “ship shape” look!

Standard Wooly’s fit lines 3/8” – 1 ½” dia. (9 – 38mm) with lengths from 18” to 6 feet; available in Black or White.  Custom sized and custom colors are available upon request.

Wooly Care

Although the Chafe-Pro Wooly has been specially designed to withstand the harsh marine environments, please read and follow the care instructions to avoid potential color loss and to help extend the life of the Wooly.

Remove Wooly from line prior to cleaning yacht with cleaning agents or chemicals to avoid agents from coming in contact with the Wooly.  It is important to make sure the line has been washed clean of any agent prior to reinstalling the Wooly on the line in the desired location.  Failure to do so may result in the agents slowly breaking down the tensile strength of the line, cause discoloration in the line, or even allow agents to come in contact with the Wooly.

Should a Wooly come in contact with a cleaning agent of chemical, simply remove the Wooly from the line and submerge in cool or tepid water.  Use your hands to gently massage the chemicals out of the wool. The Wooly is machine washable as well, simply load into your washer and select the Rinse & Spin cycle.  DO NOT USE ANY DETERGENTS. Laundry detergents contains enzymes that will break down and destroy the leather and possibly release the dye. After washing the Wooly lay it flat to dry and keep it out of direct sunlight.  Once the Wooly has dried, we recommend applying the Chafe-Pro Wooly Conditioner to the leather. This will help keep the leather soft and pliable as well as extend the life of your Wooly.
